Video Storytelling
Adult learners thrive in learning environments where context is familair. Using personal stories as a context for developing language skills is often an effective tool to motivate learners. Adding video gives learners an opportunity to understand technology and gain computer skills while at the same time developing language skills. This activity is accessible to both hearing and deaf and hard of hearing students.
Julie Al-Rai, the project designer , has worked with the Deaf Basic Education program for 6 years. She has worked with diverse groups of learners, from many different countries, in several locations in the metro area. She is currently a Curriculum Specialist for the CSD ( formerly Communication Services for the Deaf). www.c-s-d.org
