Teaching with Video Clips Project Description
HAP's (Hmong American Partnership) video learning project will combing innovative learning techniques with conventional development principles. The project rests on three assertions: a learner knows best what it is she or he must learn, language is best aquired through active participation in the learning process, and effective curriculum development should not impose experiences upon leaders, but be an intuitive and flexible response to the learners' experiences as they are experiencing them. HAP students will participate as developers, teachers, and learners, with a HAP instructor overseeing the formal development of the digital video clips and supplemental materials. The project will allow a flexible instructional period of three to four weeks for each video and include 12 different survival-English topics over the course of one year. Website: www.hmong.org
